changes for chaturanga.

a few changes to help you hit the mats.

Hey Team,

We were overwhelmed by the number of responses we received to the feedback survey that was sent out last month, so please consider this a genuine thank you for taking the time to share your valuable thoughts. There were a load of great suggestions and we are taking them all on board to hone our offering.

One issue that we’re still working to resolve is the access to booking yoga and pilates classes. Know that this one is an absolute priority for us. We created here. to help you live slower, more mindful lives and in order for this to happen you need to be able to access the studio! In turn, we’ve been working hard on implementing some further changes to help you hit the mats more often.

Here are the latest changes to help improve the state of play:

  • A reduction in the early-cancellation window down to two hours prior to the class start time
  • Narrowing the booking window on the schedule to one week in advance
  • The introduction of No Show and Late Cancellation fees to commence Monday 6th of May.
  • New classes on the schedule!

Introducing the No Show and Late Cancellation fees is something we haven’t taken lightly. This addition to our studio policies is designed solely as an incentive to stay dedicated to showing up on the mat when you make a booking. The goal is to ensure you all have a fair chance to attend and practice. It will apply only to students on unlimited memberships (eg, Direct debit and Upfront 6 month memberships, 66 Days of Slow membership) who pre-book a class and fail to attend or cancel at least 2 hours prior to the start time. In these instances students will incur a $10.00 fee. Every week our classes are consistently fully booked yet not fully attended, taking away the opportunity for someone else to practice and we’re confident this new policy will help change this.

The change we made to advanced bookings has been in effect for two weeks now and is already having a positive impact on equal opportunity for reserving a mat. Likewise, the new classes on the schedule have been really well received by our community. On Monday nights you’ll now find a go.yo class at 6:15pm followed by a new hr.yo class at 7:30pm, whilst on Wednesday mornings those of you who fancy a sleep-in can hit a hr.yo class at 8:00am.

Finally, we’re thrilled to announce the addition of Yin yoga to our schedule at 7:30pm on Wednesday nights. For those of you who don’t know yin, you’re in for an absolute treat! Yin yoga is an ancient practice that aims to increase circulation in the joints and improve flexibility by targeting the fascia, the deep connective tissues between the muscles. This restorative class consists of a series of passive floor postures and stretches held for up to 4-6 minutes. Yin is the perfect embrace of slow. A relaxing practice to help you unwind and balance some of the more dynamic yang style classes and up-tempo demands of every day life.

We really do take on board your feedback so if you have any to share please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We’ll also now have an iPad form out on the communal table after every class where you can anonymously drop us some notes on your experiences in the studio. Also be sure to keep your eyes on our schedule as we continue to add more classes over the coming weeks.

Thanks again for being a part of what we’re doing, we couldn’t do it without your support.

Catch you on the mats,
Charlie
