People sometimes ask me what it’s like to be a father. I tell them it’s amazing. I tell them it’s the greatest achievement of my life. I tell them sure, it’s hard work at times but it’s unquestionably worth it. I tell them it’s as though a lightbulb flicks on the second your child is born and your life is instantly divided into two very clear areas: the things that matter, and the things that no longer matter as much. You no longer sweat the little things, and you just don’t need to anyway as the distinction becomes immediate. What matters most? The people in your life.
Happy Father’s Day to all those guys out there lucky enough to be a dad.
